Marvin First Anniversary - Invitation and how to join the "Most Interesting Results" competition

Dear HPC users,

as already announced, on March 25, 2025, we will celebrate the first anniversary of our supercomputer "Marvin". If you want to attend, the registrations are now open! The event will consist of scientific presentations and an invited talk by parallel programming legend Timothy Mattson.

We also have started the "Most Interesting Results" competition. Submit an abstract, describe the most interesting scientific result that you obtained with Marvin and win prices!

Event information:

The event will take place from 10:00-17:00 on March 25, 2025 at the Poppelsdorf Campus

This event is jointly organized by HPC@HRZ, the HPC/A Lab and TRA Modelling.

How to join the "Most Interesting Results Competition"

7 Finalists will be selected by the jury to give a talk at the event. An audience vote will then select the winner.

What prices can you win?

  1. First price:
    • One week of Premium HPC Support! One of our support team members will join your group for a full week, help install HPC software, help review your code, job scripts, or hold training courses, according to what you need!
    • 3x Fair share on Marvin for 6 months for your research group
  2. Second price:
    • 2x Fair share on Marvin for 6 months for your research group
  3. Third price:
    • 1.5x Fair share on Marvin for 6 months for your research group
